PCI Funds Construction of Mixed Use Jamaica Plain Development

PCI has purchased a 50% participation in a loan with Boston Community Capital to fund the construction of a new building on the corner of Centre and Lamartine Street in Jamaica Plain. In addition to the 30 affordable units on the top three floors, there will be approximately 5,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space and an additional 2,000 square feet of space at the basement level for a conference room and tenant storage space. The 30 apartments will consist of four studios, four one-bedrooms, twenty two-bedrooms and two three-bedrooms.

The proposed building incorporates many green design features that will meet Energy Star Standards and be certifiable as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building.

The site is diagonally across the street from the Jackson Square T station and adjacent to the Jackson Square Development Initiative, an ambitious $250 million mixed use development planned on 7 - 12 acres of largely vacant land. Its location across the street from the Jackson Square T station makes it a Transit Oriented Development which will reduce residents’ reliance on cars.
