Visiting Nurse Assisted Living

The Visiting Nurses Assisted Living, Inc. plans to develop a 115-unit affordable assisted living facility on the site of a surplus Somerville school. A Somerville Housing Authority (SHA) elderly housing project sits adjacent to the site and VNALI plans to collaborate with SHA in providing services for both. The assisted living facility will also offer continuum of care options for the SHA residents who, as they grow older may find they need the additional care options provided by the assisted living facility.

VNALI is proposing this project as the first of a three-phase development. The second phase would be to collaborate with the SHA to renovate the adjacent elderly housing and the third would be to turn an abutting, underutilized, historic MWRA facility into housing.

PCI is participating in an acquisition loan from Boston Community Capital.

PCI Loan Amount: $1,500,000
